Rookie yearbook

I just wanted to make an appreciation post for the lovely, Tavi Gevinson.

I wrote about her in one of my blogger stories for journalism and WOW I found some amazing things about her and her life.
Incase you guys didn't know, Tavi:

- is the editor-in-chief and founder of Rookie magazine (which is my new bible by the way--its amazing)
- started her fashion blog at the age of 11
- spoke at a marketing conference in New York to hundreds of entrepreneurs, business owners and managers
- was interviewed at New York times by the age of 12 about her blog
- attended New York and Paris fashion week from 14 years old
- received 3,000 e-mails when she sent out a post offering other creatives to help her launch Rookie magazine
- one of these e-mails was a New York times employee, who quit her job to work for Tavi
- IS SEVENTEEN YEARS OLD

^This is Tavi with the first year book^

Yesterday I purchased the second yearbook - the best $35 I have spent in forever

Here are some cool facts about Rookie magazine

- it looks, feels and is the size of a book
- its a magazine, although released yearly (instead of monthly)
- every young woman can relate to the confronting and truthful issues expressed in the article
- the writing style is casual, brutally honest and straightforward
- the photo shoots are unique, vintage, and very alternative
- some articles will make you laugh, some will give you advice, or make you feel better about yourself, while others will share common issues in feminism
